Check emergency contacts before you need them
Find the number for your location and understand which service it reaches.

Emergency numbers are not universal. These selected references were checked against official publications, with dates shown. No test calls were placed, and present network, call connection or response availability has not been confirmed. In immediate danger, contact local emergency services directly.
Check the location and service first
The same number can have different meanings in different places. Some locations use a single number; others separate ambulance, fire and police. Check the service label and official source. Do not apply one country’s number to another location.
Give observable information when calling
Follow the call-taker’s questions, give the location, type of incident and observable injury or danger, and follow instructions. A webpage, chat window or supply order does not place an emergency call for you. Do not make test calls to emergency lines.
Keep a backup for interrupted communications
Save official channels, familiar safe places to seek assistance and household contact arrangements. The references below concern published numbers, not live call tests. For unlisted locations, verify details with local authorities; this site does not insert a presumed universal number.
